Yes, that is I’m sure true in the fantasy kingdom of Trumpistan, which
Answers to no Constitution and thus recognizes no role for a judiciary.
The “real” problems with the oversight of the election had dozens upon dozens of days in court. They were never ignored, not for one second. The only distraction from the “real” problems was the fact that every rumor that filtered its way down to the cult leader was thrown up against the wall to see if maybe, please oh great deity of Trumpistan, maybe, something will stick. Venezuelan interference. Krakens any minute now. Literally millions of fantasy affidavits from people claiming others voted under their names. Millions of dead people and illegals voting, which somehow can’t be proven. None of them stuck. That’s when it becomes case closed, election settled. Courts, not partisan legislatures, resolve disputes in this country. That’s their power in our all important Separation of Powers.
Of course there’s a ton of buyers’ remorse among the cult over the King’s reliance on the crack legal team of Powell and Giuliani, but that’s just an excuse - when you have no valid claim (as proven in endless judicial decisions), you just throw it all up against the wall, and see what happens. And con a gullible cult along the way. Powell and Giuliani are both batshit crazy, but their leaps between nonsense was due to the absence of anything valid. That should be the buyers’ remorse.
The hubbub over Jan 6 is due to the fact that it was a violent assault on the final step in our peaceful transition of power. Not peaceful, non-violent protesting outside - if that’s all it had been, there would be no “1/6”. 100s to 1000s of people broke in, assaulted severely outnumbered cops, and tried to break into the House and Senate chambers as they were completing the final step in our election. Something which has never occurred before. An attack, however unsuccessful, by Americans, against their own democracy.
So, the focus is on an unprecedented assault against Congress to prevent it from doing its business, when its business was the completion of an election which until that point, since the Constitution was ratified, had always been taken for granted.
The grievances about the election dominated everything between Election Day and 1/6, and for those who don’t believe in our 3 branches and the true role of the judiciary, still do. Nothing distracts from it, because it’s the musings of a cult.
